I got my AKO MISMO Dog Tag!

It is a movement where you can show your patriotism and compassion, and make these traits infectious.

It’s about action that eradicates hopelessness in every Filipino.
How hard will this be to accomplish? Well that will be entirely up to you.In AKO MISMO you get to choose the cause you wish to pursue. No cause is too small as long as it is a noble one. All we ask is that you make a pledge to do it.

You yourself can pledge anything: from teaching English to your yaya’s kid, to making sure that your barangay is dengue-free.

Or make a pledge to do your part in ending corruption, prostitution, illegal drugs or the inhumane treatment of animals. The choice is yours.

No matter how small, as long as you pledge that you yourself will take action, it’s sure to make a big difference.

Giving more hope for Filipinos to stop merely surviving, and start living. And it starts with you.

MISMO yan.

And yes, I got my dog tag already. I'd like to thank my officemate Niok for getting the tags for me and my friend Grace. Through him I did not need to line up in the long stretch as to where this tag is sold (and yes, I didn't watch the patriotism concert yesterday in The Fort).

Truth is, I can no longer recall what was the commitment I previously posted in the akomismo website. I registered a few weeks back and have not checked the site again (except today when I extracted the info above). As it is, the site is not elaborate you can't find updates like the ones you usually find in your Friendster, Facebook and Multiply websites. And yes, the akomismo.org is not really a networking site. But true to its ideals of "pagkilos para sa bayan", the site has mentioned a few partner organizations the akomismo.org members could choose to help in bringing changes, big or small, for this country. And I think it's high time that all Filipinos, here and abroad, should make their AKO MISMO pledges ~ ngayon na ang tamang panahon upang lahat tayo ay kumilos para sa bayan natin!

So what are you waiting for, sign up now! Visit http://www.akomismo.org/ for more details.
